Following in the footsteps of Greek settlers, Roman Imperialists, Norman adventurers and Christian pilgrims we visited such places as Naples, Paestum, Venosa, Cannae, Trani, Lecce, Matera, the Aeolian Islands and Palermo. Along the way we admired magnificent landscapes, climbed an active volcano, explored fascinating archaeological sites, experienced diverse architectural environments – both sacred and secular, viewed a wide variety of artistic enterprises and acknowledged the achievements of remarkable individuals. We also found time to enjoy the warm weather, the gastronomic delights of various regions and the generous hospitality of the locals. Another rewarding journey!
